Lush Albums are the vision of renowned photographer Tamara Lackey and are available exclusively through Fundy Software´s Fundy Designer software and crafted by Finao in the US. The collaboration between Lush Albums and Fundy allows for the merging of your design and order experience into one seamless process.
The goal of Tamara Lackey’s Lush Albums by Finao is to develop a series of albums that are simple in concept but offer mix and match choices to suit every photographer. Recognizing that photographers can have a difficult time selling products that compete with those that are readily available on the open market, Lush Albums aims to provide something that is unique and is not currently available. The bar is raised with unique materials, giclée (zhee-KLAY) printing and high quality construction. The combination of album and bag makes it easy for your client to take their album everywhere for sharing (critical for referral business) without worrying about damage. The bag creates a completely finished product with its own special packaging.
Lush Albums are made from especially durable fabrics not seen in book binding. The dense materials feature a soft, lush nap and are meant to withstand a lifetime of wear. The muted color palette works especially well with portrait and wedding images and blends beautifully with every home’s decor. Tamara is particularly concerned that her albums be both animal-friendly and environmentally-friendly. Lush Albums materials are home-tested with fire-retardant blends of cotton and linen. They are assembled using pure-quality, all-natural photo glue. Each page substrate is 100% plant-based cellulose. By using plant waste, such as corn stalks, cellulose becomes a re-purposed material that is lignum-free with a neutral pH level.
Lush Albums feature giclée printing and archival inks. Each print is allowed to dry for a minimum of 3 days before applying a protective surface coating. They then dry again for 24 more hours. This assures you of the finest quality, longest lasting prints as this process requires special handling. The traditional folio-style book binding construction assures that your Lush Albums´s matte pages are soft and sturdy with a delicate hand your clients will appreciate for years to come. Once the prints are adhered to each other they form what we call the block. When the block is completed it dries in a press over night. Once dry, the solid block is then reinforced with a special book binding spine material. Your album is now ready to move along to be married with its custom handmade cover.
Each cover is 100% hand made by skilled artisans that turn, not fold, each corner. Other stages include adding hubs to the spine and finishing the block tops. When your album is complete, it will be measured and a custom bag will be created so it will have a forever home that will keep your clients’ treasured memories safe and protected.
